Overdose Outreach Worker - Whistler/Pemberton

Provides overdose outreach services at no cost.
The overdose outreach worker provides the following services:
  • Connecting clients to services, helping them gain access (E.g. OAT, Mental Health Services, Group/peer support, etc.)
  • Providing overall support in many areas (E.g. housing, income, employment, transportation, etc.)
  • Life skills education
  • Take-Home Naloxone Kits

Clients eligible for service include:
  • Anyone who may be at risk of an overdose (drugs and/or alcohol) or has experienced one and could use some extra support
  • Someone that could benefit from a check-in every once in a while who uses substances but doesn’t have a substance use disorder
  • Referral to a WCSS outreach worker or other relevant services
  • Clients who declined a full referral to MHSU but may still want a small connection as a resource of support
